The family run Raspberry Island Lodge is located at the historic cannery site at Port Wakefield. Raspberry Island Lodge is only 30 nautical miles from the town of Kodiak, Alaska.

Join us for a trip of a lifetime on one of our 30-foot, custom built catamaran boats. Our boat captains are Coast Guard Licensed and Certified and have nearly forty combined years of experience in this area of Kodiak.

We take care of all of your fish processing and get it to the airport for you to ship back home with you. Shipping is your cost. If you have too much fish to check on your flight we can arrange frozen freight if needed.

At the age of ten I had my first Alaskan experience. It was after my dad Mike, one of the original founders of Raspberry Island Lodge had started building the business. The first adventure was building the bunk house, but the highlight of the trip was the fishing when I caught a halibut as big as I was (only 60 pounds at the time). I was instantly hooked, and some component of my life has revolved around the lodge ever since.

After spending nearly every summer of my life on the waters around the lodge, I moved on to become a US Coast Guard licensed captain 6 years ago and has since spent my time sharing my love for fishing in the area with our clientele. I am now the General Manager of Raspberry Island Lodge and I still sneak away any chance I can to fish around Raspberry Island. I will do everything in my power to create lifelong memories with us.

Since I was a child I have had a love of the outdoor lifestyle. It was never about what we had in the box on the way home, more importantly it was about the adventure and companionship. Memories burned into my mind’s eye. Of course, the box usually had enough bounty for our family to enjoy numerous meals a month of high-quality surf and turf.

Now I am a few years older and relish helping my sons and grandkids burn their own memories.

Since 2002 I have maintained a 50 Ton USCG Masters License and enjoyed guiding guests for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, walleye and bottom fish on the Columbia River, tributaries and the Oregon coastal waters.

After early retirement from a successful sales career I landed for a summer at a lodge in SE Alaska. I was hooked. I am happy to say I will be burning memories and producing smiles at Raspberry Island Lodge. Please come and join me.

I am a 33 year resident of Alaska. I have 40 years fishing experience in the Gulf of Alaska, the Bering Sea, and the Oregon Coast with both sport and commercial fishing.

I love sharing my sea stories with guests. I look forward to meeting you and creating lasting memories.
